Purdue Research Park-based industrial design, engineering firms form alliance
Published: February 1, 2012
NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Companies seeking complete end-to-end industrial design and engineering services to develop new products may benefit from an alliance of two companies based in the Purdue Research Park of Southeast Indiana.
Officials at Adams:Kinkade Design LLC and Techshot Inc. have created an alliance that allows each company and its customers to benefit from the other's expertise. Adams:Kinkade Design will provide its industrial design capabilities and Techshot will provide its comprehensive engineering services.
Ty Adams, Adams:Kinkade Design's managing director, said the companies' clients will benefit from the alliance as the user experience for clients' products is strengthened.
"Aligning Techshot's engineering capabilities with industrial design's ability to understand human needs allows for a deeper exploration of ideas and more creative product development collaboration, which leads to innovation, products that succeed and brand loyalty," he said. "Designers are uniquely positioned to champion the user experience, standing with one foot in the world of technology and the other in the world of people, and bringing the two together."
Rich Boling, Techshot's vice president of corporate advancement, said mutual respect forms the basis of the alliance, which already has resulted in several products, including medical devices.
"Adams:Kinkade Design does terrific work, and its design capabilities perfectly complement Techshot's engineering skills," he said. "We already have worked together on diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices, and I expect companies that develop consumer and prosumer products also will find this seamless integration of industrial design and engineering appealing."
