Quality Assurance Engineer

Duties / Responsibilities

Imaginestics LLC has an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer.​ You will be joining a team focused on delivering and supporting a manufacturing driven social media platform providing components of a visual search engine. This position works with the development team to create comprehensive test procedures and test all aspects of our software development including our online platform, visual search engine and any custom solutions we offer to our customers.​

• Perform system, integration and regression testing for a suite of web-based and proprietary back-end applications
• Provide breakdown of QA tasks and time estimates for project planning
• Participate and provide input in requirement and technical design review meetings
•  Develop and document test strategy for projects
• Develop, maintain and execute manual and automated test cases
• Identify, analyze and report test results
• Report, track, and monitor defects in our bug tracking system
• Investigate bug reports from production support and isolate their causes
• Perform QA responsibilities for projects: documentation preparation, test case assignment, bug management, bug status reporting
• Support the QA automation by writing and/​or editing functional automated test scripts and executing them
• Provide input in developing quality assurance standards
• Work in a highly collaborative environment with a team of software engineers, project managers, and business representatives
• Train team members on application functionality, processes and QA tools

Requirements / Qualifications

• Understanding of Agile / RAD software development life cycle methodologies
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, standards and best practices
• Strong manual and Black Box testing experience with complex and functionality-rich applications
• Understanding of database schemas and querying tools (i.​e.​ SQL)
• Basic understanding of programming language concepts is a plus (preferably in C# / ASP.Net, C+​+​)
• Previous scripting experience / use of automated QA tools for ASP.Net
• Fluent in Microsoft Office products
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where maintenance and software updates coincide with major project releases
• Must be able to work on multiple tasks at a time and manage time and priorities effectively
• Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and transition between projects
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and effectively in teams
• Attention to detail
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a Quality Assurance role
