About the park
Established in 1961, Purdue Research Park has evolved into a nationwide model for industry-academia collaboration. The park is an intentional extension of Purdue’s land-grant mission to advance practical education, research, and public service through strategic partnerships and infrastructure.
The park, the third of its kind in the U.S., was devised at a time when many other universities were also developing research parks to accommodate the rapid increase in sophisticated research following World War II. This track record of pursuing cutting-edge research for the advancement of society with innovative industry-academic partnership continues in the park to this day.
The park is managed by the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF), which helps to advance Purdue in the quest for discovery, learning, and engagement.

The continued development of these new tools of civilization, to be used as a means to an end, is largely dependent, not upon the wealth of resources, but upon wealth of human ingenuity and intelligence applied to adjust mankind to his environment… An appreciation of the trends of this new era, and realization that the success of scientific and technological development is largely dependent upon organized effort, inspired the founders to make possible the Purdue Research Foundation.
